Does anyone know if we have 1×2 trans yellow bricks in LUG inventory? I want to rebuild the Polar Express passenger cars with trans-yellow windows and dark red frames. I will need hundreds of bricks to do that which means placing an order to Germany unless we have some on hand. I’d be happy to trade trans-red 1×2 bricks for trans-yellow … unless anyone got the secret Philly LUG recipe for making clear parts into trans yellow.

@lunch36, didn’t you post something within the last year or two about getting a good deal on a train station? There is one on sale at S@H right now, I think its 60050, but it still looks too pricey to me.

Also here is the chance to get the Big Bang Theory for 20% off. Of course I’m regretting that I bought one at full price.

The heavy hauler train is also on sale, is that the one we got in the support boxes? Those train pieces could help to make a decent trolley, if one were so inclined.

One would think I have nothing to do tonight. Actually, this is championship level work avoidance behavior.

My latest project is the North Pole post office. A SteelCity LUG expat reminded me that lighting is key for interior detail. To enable more light to get in, this building only has a front half roof … so far.

Does anyone know where these, Olaf polybags,

are being sold โ€ฆ except LEGO stores?

Didn’t see a reply or followup, but apparently Target now and most area stores supposedly have it now. Going to try and find in the AM.

Yes, TARGET ? now has them for $3.99, but not in the LEGO section, you have to go to the “seasonal” section ie. Easter stuff.

Thanks! I like the Target app – it tells you just exactly what aisle to look in!

    Whom, now, could he mean?
    Perhaps dearly departed
    Douglas, of the Cloud?

The Cranberry Target has some deep discounts on the Ariel’s magic kiss set 41052. Normally $30 is ringing at less than $10. I think there were about 3 or 4 left when I was there at lunch time.

Anyone have some of these parts they are willing to sell?
    Wanted Parts
I’ve been struggling to find good lots on Bricklink. I’ll take multiples if I can get them.

Someone in Canada had one. ๐Ÿ™‚ I suggest everyone start placing bricklink orders to Canada. This will help us determine which LUG to join if Trump wins.

That is a real nice acquisition, considering that printed brick was only in one set ever, and that was from 1966.

Friday night I stripped down the candy factory to the assembly line and display windows. I improvised on it all day yesterday. It is now completely rebuilt.

I didn’t want to start a new thread for this (yet) so it’s going into the all encompassing THREADJACKING thread. ๐Ÿ™‚

I received a letter in the mail from Greensburg. The summer Monroeville show is July 16-17. They request applications to be submitted approx. three months in advance, which would be mid-April. The LUG did summer Greensburg last year. Are we interested in doing it again this year?

The fall schedule should be out in May and I would assume that the first weekend in November (Nov. 5-6) would be the Monroeville show again this year.

I received a letter in the mail from Greensburg.

Presumably, you mean Greenberg. The lack of “s” and substitution of “e” for “u” are subtle, yet critical, differences. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And actually, they style it as “Greenberg’s” – possessive. Scalawag.

The summer Monroeville show is July 16-17.

I’m definitely out for this one – big ol’ family reunion that weekend. But yinz should do it! I mean… if you wanna.

But yeah, decide soon and submit LUG Support application, too! (wait, does this qualify under new rules?)

Very, very cool. The profile bricks on the ground floor make this look really polished. Much more in line with the pictures of the North Pole in The Polar Express.

    the candy factory

I’m still tweaking the candy factory redesign. The white roof plates were so thin that when the lights were turned on inside of it, the roofs lit up. I added another layer of plates underneath to counteract that problem.

I got the alpine mosaic out today and like most puzzles that are put away “assembled,” it required reassembly. I was going to rebuild it as two studs deep, but I am now realizing that I would need almost all new parts! Maybe the side with the slopes, pins and click hinges sticking out isn’t THAT bad.
