JoshKeymasterGot a new roof. I kept about 6 sheets that have staples and some damage from the repaired sections. I figure we can create some unique table dimensions or maybe some wheeled crates for plexi or Mocs. It would take some effort to remove the staples and map out usuable dimensions, but I think it’s worth it. Work day sometime warm and dry?

Bob GrierParticipantWe ended up improvising a 20″ x 40″ table filler to go between the (4) 40″x40″ tables that were butted up against the (2) 90″x40″ Mega tables in the Worlds Area for Home and Garden (see attached).
Could be useful to have a 20″x40″ “half table” to do the same thing for future events.

JoshKeymasterpoll added! I also got some of this scrap wood from fb marketplace from guy on 51 who has a mattress store…plenty of it to get more too…
I was thinking we could use chatgpt to give it how many pieces of X x Y dimensions we have and have it design us some boxes etc. I’m all about making tables out of the roof sheets as we can, but I also have interest in getting away from cardboard boxes and making modular building size crates on wheels…
and i figure we’ll want a day to play with ideas and a run or two to home depot is always in the plan.

Gabe VisticaParticipantI’m interested in showing up sometime on Saturday. Besides wood things, I’ve never actually been to your house or seen the LUG’s stocks there (and I also want another look at all the train stuff for Ultimate Brick Show).

Will McDineParticipantAs of right now I can’t do Saturday due to a Graduation party. Depending on work I might be able to do Friday. I will update as the date gets closer.

JoshKeymasterPete, his son (Lewis), and Gabe came out today. We got all the sheets de-stapled and cut all the bad wood off. I was able to finish a double decker box for my GOB and Matt’s dresses, which are on 48×48 baseplates. Gabe cut out a top for a custom table to fit in that spot that he and Bob noticed from home and garden. We also started out a new sneeze guard box that will have wheels and let us stack stuff on top of it. PLENTY of wood left if you feel inspired to make more custom sized tables or a box for your builds. I’ll plan to have some 2x3s and pvc couplings ready for q3.

JoshKeymasterput some work in the box that gabe started yesterday. It has wheels and should replace the 2 very heavy sneezeguard boxes we have. It might take a few times of use to see if there are improvements to it that are needed, but the goal is to not have to pick it up, be able to put things on top of it, and have all our sneezeguard in 1 place. I got a little wild with the router…and then my clamps came off so I just stopped making grooves at that point…I think it’s enough to get started.
with the other thread about table legs, I’ll plan for another build day – see thread.
