Greg SchubertParticipantThat’s a really good use of a raised baseplate. Its really ominous in black. Also, I like the bridge in the middle. Did you see our castle builds from last summer’s Cranberry display case?

KevinParticipantI might have, were the castles red and yellow?

Greg SchubertParticipantThis is the yellow one, it used a bunch of the older style dragon knights.

KevinParticipantThats a large blue tower and the big yellow keep has some good techniques in it. Do you guys ever go on eurobricks?
Also have you heard of Bob Carney, I love his castles carneycastle.com.

He has dozens of LEGO models of real European castles on that site! Did he make them all himself?

“I have just begun my 147th castle in Lego”
Looks like it. That’s 146 more Lego castles than I’ve built. He doesn’t give a date for that but at the very least, this site was updated in Feb 2015, so it looks like he’s still actively maintaining it. I did not know about this site, and there’s clearly a lot here to look at, so I expect to be going through it for some time.

TimModeratorLook on his website for a picture of his Lego Room. About 10 years ago he had custom storage shelves built for his pieces. Probably cost $5,000+ but they are sweet (stacked and on sliders).
Yes, he built all of those himself but he does not keep them built. Each castle gets meticulously researched, built, photographed, and then cannibalized for the next build. At most, he might have 2 or 3 together at a time.
