Mike RobertsonParticipantSo, a neighbor gave my son and I the Big Ben Expert set (#10253), with the caveat that some pieces MAY be missing. My son and I organized ALL the pieces and came to the upsetting realization that we are missing EXACTLY 1000 pieces. This was originally assembled, and judging by the aftermath, I believe this fell off a shelf, and what was found was just got tossed back into its original box. From what I can tell, 3 sections of the tower and the top is missing.
A Bricks & Pieces and Bricklink order would put the remaining pieces @ $102+. I’m not willing to spend that on a set that I’m not SUPER enthralled with, and have been told is quite repetitive. It’s a shame that we have a 3/4 of the parts for a neat summer project for my son. I’m sure I can substitute some of the pieces from my OLD used pieces, but I know we’re missing WAY too many of some that are exterior facing and color specific.:
198x | PLATE 1X2 WITH SLIDE – Tan
98x | PLATE 1X1 – Tan
69x | FLAT TILE 1X6 – Tan
67x | Plate Round 1×1 w/ Flower Edge – Pearl Gold
60x | Plate 1×2 – Trans-Brown
48x | PLATE 1X1 – Trans-Brown
35x | BRICK 1X1 W. 4 KNOBS – Dark Bluish Gray
34x | PLATE 1X6 – Tan
32x | WALL CORNER 1X1X1 – TanA full spreadsheet of the missing pieces is attached, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to get pieces more reasonably. But I think I’m just going to have to stalk the Pick-a-brick, and substitute where I can. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

JoshKeymasterI think your limiting factor is just getting those quantities…definitely an example where having unsorted bins and larger existing collections help. update us if you come up with anything that solves it beyond bricklink

JoshKeymasterif you already have a bricklink wanted list set up, you can run my store through it to see if I have anything you need – reducing those quantities will go a long way of reducing shipping costs and increasing the likelihood you can find a store with reasonable prices. http://pittsburghbricks.com
