Hey all! for those of you who didnt get the email, Registration for Brick Erie 2025 is now open! Below you will see the link to register and book hotels and what not. The show runs from Friday September 12th- Sunday September 14th. They added a 3rd tier package this year to include the buffet for Friday and Saturday as well.
It appears the hotel link on the page is only showing the ones connected to the convention center. While those are nice they can get a little pricy. Plenty of other lodging in the area if you so choose

For those who have not attended Brick Erie in the past or are looking to ease your way into the convention circut I highly recommend you consider attending! I was thoroughly impressed with last year and I have no doubt this year will be any different.

@timf Ready for the full Hoth display? I can register it or you can, up to you.

Will be good practice for the Ultimate Brick Show!

Ready for the full Hoth display?

@argonvesher Yes. I am planning on reworking the interior baseplates to make it more modular and easier to move. This might require the removal of the running lights (the actual lights) but they really did not add much to the display. That will allow me to break up the baseplates into much smaller sections. I plan to do the same for the sidewalls, using technic pins to hold everything together.

Go ahead and register it. I have not registered for Brick Erie yet but will do so within the next several weeks. It is on my “to-do” list.

Bumping this thread because I come back from Chicago with a Message from Skip….. “Get F@*king Registered God Damnit!!” LOL all kidding aside, Skip said he is slowly starting to get the event pulled together. He said over the next month or so we will begin to get emails about MOC registration, the Theme for this years collab (last year was habitats). He also said if you register soon do not be alarmed if it takes a few days to get your confirmation, He has to do that manually and he has several things going on right now after Chicago.

He also asks us to please spread the word and enlist people both from our area and in the Erie area. The start up LUG in the Erie area is hurting for members and is looking for newcomers!

For anyone who still needs to book a hotel, for some reason the Cobblestone inn on bayfront parkway literally a mile from the convention center isnt listed as a hotel for this year. However the “ERIPRO” promo code did work for that hotel when I booked it.

Chuck and I are planning to be displaying with the LUG at Brick Erie. Is there a sign up or list we should reference to make that happen? Trying to be proactive. since we missed it for BFVA.

I genuinely cant remember if we did a LUG based sign up or not last year. If we did I would imagine we would do one again this year. Skip said we can expect the Brick Erie Google drive here in the not so distant future

I pulled together a quick sheet for us to use based on what I had last year. It would be good for us to know what all we need to set up our display, even if Skip has a master sheet. (Yes, it’s filling out info twice but for different purposes).

Feel free to add onto this sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fMPsb958iTJGKURw9zDX-Z1bAIozfUtmEYg1KzDYh-U/edit?usp=drivesdk

Did you leave it filled in from last year? There’s a Ben with no last name that looks like a match for me in every way, but I still didn’t want to assume that it wasn’t somebody else, so I added a new line.

I’m only asked for half a table this time. So I’ll need somebody to share with, but I will be using my yellow-orange table covering again, so anybody on my table will need to be okay with that. (They also won’t be able to start setting up until I arrive, although I doubt that that will be an issue; in 2023 and 2024 I was the first LUG member to arrive, and I once again plan to get there as early as possible Thursday morning.) If they’re a bit flexible on space, that would help, but if not, I’ll just confine it to exactly half a table. Anything that gets built that there isn’t room for can be put out at TUBS.

Ben, It took me a minute too. It is the same document as last year, but if you look at the bottom there are separate pages for 2024 and 2025. Make sure you are on the 2025 one. I believe it defaults to bringing up 2024

Heh, you are correct, thanks. That’s not even the first time I’ve made that error. Okay, I got it sorted out now.

I’m excited that Krista has Duck Hunt listed as her MOC. I’ve been hearing about how that one is “coming soon” for about eleventy-billion years, so I’ll be glad to finally see it.

I did the spreadsheet quickly on my phone. It seems like it got figured out, but I’ll reorder the sheets for clarity.

It has been forever! I turned it into a lenticular and needed LUGBulk last year to finish. It better be ready for VA. I’m 3/7 of the way there.

I once again waited too long to make a hotel reservation, so I’m at the Cobblestone in Harborcreek, which I haven’t used before. Google says it’s about 15 minutes, which isn’t too bad. The Cobblestone on Bayfront Parkway just a few minutes from the venue is full. I used the promo code COMICON, which did lower the overall bill by more than a hundred dollars.

When I looked into it months ago, the promo rates for at least one of the hotels adjacent to the venue were extremely low, lower than what I was getting at the Cobblestone without a promo code. I don’t remember why I didn’t make the reservation then. Now those hotels are back up to very expensive prices, so I missed out. We’ll see what happens next year.

I found an AirBNB about 10 minutes from the convention center for less than 90 per night. I don’t need much more than a bed and a shower so I wasn’t super picky.

Huh, thats odd. It must just be sold out over the weekend then because I called earlier today and added Thursday to my reservation with no issues.

Anywho, Do we Have someone working to build our table layout? I can’t remember who did it last year. If no one is I can do it if need be.

I did it last year, and I was also thinking I could do it this year. In 2023, Mark Concilla (of Erie Promotions) did it. Last year he did it again, based on the spreadsheet we’d filled out for Skip, but I found minor issues with his layout (including giving us more tables than we needed) and so I sent him a revised layout, and he’s easy to work with, so he had no problems with my changes. But Skip told me at BFVA that his cousins are looking to retire and have sold Erie Promotions to another group and it’s definitely a done deal, so I don’t know who we’d be dealing with this time. I think Skip gave me a name, actually, but I don’t remember it and I don’t know anything about them.

Skip also gave me the low down and names of the new people. I also do not remember any names or how to contact them the best. Thankfully if we need it Skip is easily accessible.

Bumping this a bit. For anyone still on the fence about going, Tomorrow 08/30 is the LAST day to submit Space requests for this incredibly fun show.

I see that Skip posted the map for the Lego show layout. Quick question to those who are heading up…does the LUG section off spaces per person, or do we just do a first come basis?? Chuck will be there on Thursday around 9am when it opens. I’m heading up Thursday as well, but not until later that day. Thanks all. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
