ParticipantWhen you’ve got a creative block remember what The Lord of the Rings teaches: sometimes it’s ok to give up!

ParticipantFor reference if anyone wants to build in Lego nuclear energy related things as part of Pittsburgh’s history. Atom smasher and first commercial power plant- sound like something @carlsonf might be interested in.
Of course, I keep building the educational train models that helped that part of the STEM industry in keeping the lights on.

KeymasterI’ve heard some comments regarding how inflated our reported member numbers are. since sending the email about us using LEDs primarily, about 11 hours ago, over 200 people have viewed that email out of the +600 people that get the newsletter. That’s pretty impressive, I think. We average over 200 people viewing the newsletter each month too. I’m very OK with sticking with we have hundreds of members in the pittsburgh area.

Participant@greg I appreciate you looking out for me! As much as I would love some of the stuff in there, If I come home with more fire trucks my wife would likely kill me.

I can relate, I received an order for a tiny set from Nathan Sawaya once. I recently saw ads for his Art of the Brick show in DC – he must be making a fortune!

ParticipantHaha, what’d he order?? Can we get insight into what his next building will be?

I wish I could fall that spectacularly. It was really from illegal speed building. Oh no, I’ve said too much. 😂

Oh, you’d better believe we’re going to get yinz drunk and spilling all the dirt from behind the scenes… (it worked reasonably well with the LEGO Masters crew who were at BrickFest Live in Monroeville a few years ago…)

ParticipantHas anyone seen Nate from the Internet’s upscale castle build yet? He’s 3d printing scaled up version of (I believe) Kings Castle 6080 at a ratio of 20:1.
May 25, 2025 at 2:51 pm #64515Greg Schubert
ParticipantIt’s cool what technical challenges he overcame to be able to do that.
