    Hey There!

Looking for someone who is BrickLink smart to help me out. When a store lists shipping by weight, how would I determine which weight class my order fits into in order to pre-understand the shipping costs?

    Thanks in advance!

You should be able to set your BL settings so that it tells you the total weight of the parts at the bottom of your shopping cart. (Every now and then there’s unusual parts with ‘weight unknown’, it hasn’t been a problem for me yet, mostly cause I rarely order from Europe.)

Everybody I’ve ordered from is making those charts based on the order of the parts only, since the buyer can’t be expected to anticipate the weight of packing (which is trivial for padded envelopes but significant for cardboard boxes). I have yet to run into a problem on that one either, even though I’ve gone right up to the gram in a lot of cases.

@bengood921, thanks for the quick response! I do not readily see that setting. I went into my cart settings but the interface is a bit confusing for me. I will have to look around for it.

I remember it being unnecessarily hard to find, but it’s been so long since I’ve done it, I don’t remember how. I can’t think of any reason to ever turn it off, so I’m not sure why having it on isn’t the default.

    These instructions should work.
