    here’s the description:

Space 2012 is new reborn LEGO moonbase that was started back in 2002. Our mission is to unite all the LEGO space enthusiasts located all over the world into a common cause, moonbase. Whether your building style is classic space SOTs style or the newer Neo-Classic SNOT style building techniques, all are welcomed. We shall discuss new standards that currently being developed by DelVaLUG and other members AFOL/TFOL communities. This is also a great way for us to work on collaborative projects similar to the apocalypse program. Although one of the main goals is to rebirth a stalled moonbase project; spaceships, land vehicles, and other like ships, buildings, terrain. Etc is encouraged as well. I hope to soon have a flickr group page and a formal forum in order to post photos, ideas, etc. And as always, Happy Building!

How does this work? Do they have a meetup where everyone brings some MOCs or is this more of a photo stream with a common theme?

Generally there is a standard for joining points where the modules connect.  Otherwise, within your area (usually defined by Baseplates) you can do whatever you want.  The idea is then to get as many modules together IRL (like at a Lego convention) for public display.

yup, Tim’s on it. The facebook group aims to form that standard and go to brick fair NE and VA this year, as well as a few others.
