Imma pull a BYO LEGO for this event.

Sounds like a recipe for losing some of YO LEGO…

I’ll bring something that I’m not emotionally attached to 🙂

Any chance there are free tickets left? Two for Friday 6:30 (for me and Paula)?

Also I could not resist this weekend’s spend $99 online at S@H and get TWO small sets free with a VIP card.

Did you see both of the free sets on your order? I was expecting two, but only saw the holiday set listed.

Thanks for the thoughtful comments, @greg!

Good point about the parts list, I didn’t think of that and had no idea it would be possible to use non-existing parts in the designer software.

Sorta, kinda on a tangent – has anyone had any experience with ordering custom modular directions on eBay? I’ve seen some interesting things on there.

    – This is the one I mentioned to you yesterday –

I could call and get more details regarding timing, desire for MOC/Sets/Themes, etc.

Here is another possibility I just discovered: http://www.columbusmuseum.org/think-outside-the-brick-the-creative-art-of-lego/ I visited the Science museum in Columbus (COSI) once, but not the Art museum.

Ooooh, field trip with bonus Lego Store opportunity!

    Hi, @arcadiumsol, welcome!

If you feel like getting out and about today, head over to SW Randall Toys downtown or to the PA Trolley Museum to meet some LUG members and see the displays.

BUY MORE!!! You can never have too many modulars – either to customize, or to resell once they’re out of print! ?

(also: Mutant Enemy reference? If so, well played.)

I did the same thing, especially after reading that the pet shop would be retiring soon. ?

It was definitely the Retiring Soon plus Double VIP points that had me hitting the trigger. But I can’t say that selling is a good motivator 😉 Too much work.

And yes, I am well played Hahahahaha.

Lego.com has quite a few items on sale, the most surprising is the Pet Shop was $150, now $119.

Grr arrghhh!! I just bought it!! (I guess the double points will have to be the solace).

FYI, you can create a store in bricklink and keep it closed if you don’t want to sell anything. You can also “keep parts in inventory” if you want to keep the store open but not sell certain things.

Thanks for the tip. I may consider that in the future, but the interface is so ugly. Brickset is much more pleasing to the eyes.

OK, cool. Generally speaking, I make teh jokes with abandon, but I wanted to make sure it wasn’t legitimately offending you, since you’re new-ish and humor/tone (i.e. – faux anger) doesn’t always translate online.

But yeah, if you think counting is fun, then by all means, do that!

No worries; I may be new to the group, but I am not new to the internet. I should have added a LOL or winky face.

Please excuse me while I sort out my new set to start building (but only after adding it to the inventory)!

Don’t hate on the new girl, dude!

Wait, what about my comments was construed as “hating on the new girl”…? That was not my intention at all…

LOL, just kidding 😀 This may help you understand why I didn’t mind verifying LUGBulk orders the other day 😀

OK, in that case, I’m just going to stop talking, because that’s a level of personal inventory management that I’ll never even attempt to handle. You kids have fun; sorry for making lame jokes and pointing fingers without even understanding the question!

Thanks for the tips! I’ll look at Rebrickable later today. There is definitely value in being able to mark pieces from sets as lost.

And to prove I’m not insane – see photos 😀

I’m finally getting back to entering inventory, and I have some questions about the systems.

Unfortunately, I’m having trouble installing Brickstock, so I’ll have to come back to that one. And Bricklink is so commerce focused, I couldn’t see a way to just add my own personal sets to part out. It seemed like the only way to part was to have a store.

I like the way WallofBricks.com shows the parts qty when sets are added to your account. They only had 2 out of the first 7 sets that I tried to add, so I gave up there.

I really like the interface with BrickSet, but I can’t figure out how to see the broken out parts inventory. They break out the Minifigs, which is nice. Is there something I’m missing on this one?

I see on Rebrickable that I can pull over the sets list from BrickSet and it can run a search to tell me other things I can build with the parts I have, based on those sets, but again, I can’t figure out how to see the parts list.

Some combination of BrickSet plus WallofBricks seems like it would be awwweeesssommmmeeee.

    I look forward to thoughts!

ETA – Reading is fundamental! There was a parts inventory setting on BrickSet that needed to be activated.

Nick, were you ever able to find the Phantom? I have been keeping my eye out (but suspect it will be even harder to find now, for reasons…).

    Target sales today

    41130 Friends Coaster 20% off – $79.99
    41126 Friends Heartlake Riding Club 27% off – $43.99
60134 City Fun in the Park People Pack 20% off – $31.99
76053 Batman: Gotham City Cycle Chase 20% off – $15.99
75149 Star Wars Resistance X-Wing Fighter 4% off (LOL) – $68.99 (Costco has this for $64.99 right now)
75136 Star Wars Droid Escape Pod 16% off – $20.99
    21126 Minecraft The Wither 13% off – $34.99
    76051 SuperHeroes Airport Battle 20% off – $63.99

ETA – I stopped at Cranberry Target on the way home to pick up 76051, after checking the app on the way to see that it was present. The sale price noted above displayed on the app for both Target.com and Cranberry. When I got to the store, I found the item, but noted no sale tag on the shelf. When I got the register, it rang up full price. I pulled up the app to show the sale price and it was showing regular price on both tabs! I told the cashier I was positive I saw it online today for 20% off and she adjusted the price. I checked the app again in the parking lot and the full price was still showing. Feeling insane, I continued home, and when I got to a red light near home, I checked the app again and the sale price was displaying again.

So my point is that when there’s a sale price and it appears that it will be in store also, don’t always trust that, and just place the order online for in-store pickup.

    </TLDR>
