A couple different sizes would be awesome. The backs of the chairs where the letters would fit is only about 1.5 inches high and about 18 inches wide.

I didn’t size it up, but I was thinking the one for the tables, which we still have. Would be too big.
Yep, shoot me a text when you think you’ll come.

Hey Josh, are you going to be around tomorrow evening (Sunday)? If that is inconvenient, I can come another night.
I’m going to try to remind everyone verbally, but I’ll say it here. As we near lugbulk 2016, I want to make sure you’re aware of the participation requirement of staffing and/or display at an event. There are opportunities the next 3 weekends as well as into November and December. Let me know if you need clarification on this.

I’ll be here all day. Just give me a heads up when you think you’ll be here.

What are we TALKING ABOUT?
#akaThreadjacker!
Stones. Sets. Ins. Casual sexism. Ice Cream Cakes. Dinner. All of the things that are essential to a successful impromptu LUGBulk Sorting Party!
Matt, don’t apologize for who you are.
A big part of who I am (possibly even bigger than the wannabe comedian / sarcasm / snark machine) wants to be loved by everybody. These parts sometimes conflict…
LUG can pick up an ice cream cake…just sayin’. 5 or more members opens lug coffers #newrule #setinstone #zomgicecreamcake
#setinstoneFTW
It’s okay Matt, that’s what I expect from you
Um… thanks? #ImnotamisogynistbutIplayoneonTV
Also, if we come tonight to help sort, do we earn a 1/2 cup? =D
Sneaky sneaky. But somehow I feel like LUGBulk is excluded from the normal sorting rules… then again, you could help sort Josh’s Ping Pong Table of Doom and maybe get some under the table kickbacks from his personal coffers…

Sunday is fine too. I’ll keep this thread updated with our progress.
Come on over, Matt, Pete, Duncan, etc. I’ll try to print out the allotments in a useful manner for anyone to go to town.
My house is an open house all weekend. I’m working 4p-midnight tomorrow, but since I work from home, anyone is welcome at any point. It’s just me in the house all weekend.
I had plans for going through the storage locker stuff with some members, but haven’t set anytime. I’ll let anyone hash out a group decision on best time, but default is whenever you want.
UPS called me today to schedule the delivery for tomorrow.
I’m not opposed to people coming over this weekend to get started. If we want to keep the 17th, that’s fine too.
carting the large LUGBulk order around … might be a hassle.
Yes it would be risky to drag $4k of parts around. I guess we will need to do a preliminary sort with whomever is available. Btw, our original ship date is October 2.
Understood, but we can start counting things out in advance, right? My point is that it does not have to all be done at one time.
We could, yes. But if you’re suggesting taking the stuff along to Maker Faire or Youngstown Library event or something, I’d just worry about logistics for carting the large LUGBulk order around… not saying it can’t happen, just that it might be a hassle.
The likelihood of everyone being able to attend the LUG distribution on the same day seems small. I know that “the foot has spoken,”

about how LUGbulk distribution will be executed with everyone present. Is there a way that the order sorting can be started at another event that the LUG is planning to invest several hours in October?
That’s the tentative date for the lugbulk sorting, but as days go by with me not hearing anything, I grow more pessimistic -http://www.steelcitylug.com/forum/topic/lugbulk-order-distribution-date/
unless someone volunteers to come down during the week to finish it, I think we’ll have a meeting at my house that day still, to work on the track before the youngstown event the next day. We’ll want to make sure we have everthing in working order.
Actually, it was “THOU SHALT NOT TAKE ANY LUGBULK BRICKS UNTIL ALL LUGBULK BRICKS HAVE BEEN SORTED, EACH MEMBER’S BRICKS HAVE BEEN PULLED, AND ALL TOTALS HAVE BEEN RATIFIED WITH THE ORIGINAL ORDER SPREADSHEET.”
Do we need to try to coordinate a date to divide the LUGbulk loot order? We don’t know when the order is going to arrive, but perhaps we can anticipate or predict when it might be. I mention this because some people might need to know well in advance of the date to clear their schedule in order to attend. I already know I cannot be there on October 9-11, unless I am allowed to send a surrogate.
heh. yeah, parting out a townhall is cost effective. Bricks are the most expensive, which is why lugbulk comes in handy. I know I parted out a town hall in my store a few years back.
The finishing touch will be the tan window frames, when our LUGbulk order arrives.
“When”, you say? I appreciate your positive outlook.
This looks rill nice. Especially that PENS in LEGO font! Can we get a full-on view of that in the proper thread?
Zach and I first built a prototype of this building. Then I decided that there were lots of things that would make it look better. In retrospect, if I do a big project like this again I should plan it first in LEGO Digital Designer. Having a virtual model would prevent all the changes I had to make and the mistakes which had to be corrected from building the roof and main building separately.
It was surprising to realize that in the last month I’ve spent 140 bucks and 80 Euros on bricklink … and I already had the vast majority of the parts that I needed for this house!
The finishing touch will be the tan window frames, when our LUGbulk order arrives.
