@timf, I don’t think anyone has done any layout work yet to figure out how much space we’ll need. I can help get that organized, but I really haven’t used Bluebrick much at all and could use help with that. Josh Updike (Mac) did that last year, but don’t know that he’s still active in the LUG these days. @jupdyke, if you get this and still have…[Read more]

One of the things that Tim and I have talked about is doing a “lessons learned” from this event to capture what went well, what didn’t, and where we can make improvements to the MILS’d components before the next time. The Home and Garden Show in early March is a good next candidate for these, although I would expect it will be more city and less…[Read more]

@playingwithechoes, please bring them, including the power supply cables if you have them. The current layout shows (4) 9v loops, and we currently only have (3) sets of speed regulators/connecting wires/power supplies coming. @jupdyke has some of the LUG’s connecting wires for repairs, but we don’t know where he had a chance to do that yet. Thanks!

@jupdyke – any update on the wiring / transformer situation ahead of this weekend?
I’m really excited to see how this display goes! I know we’ll have to make some adjustments to the bluebrick file to match what we got done Saturday, but I think it will really come together well. Being the first time we’re display with ~100 new MILS sections of…[Read more]

Great job with the Bluebrick @jupdyke! Another option for the 9v loop on the left (in maroon) would be to make it a double track. If we do that, I think the small circle 9v track on the right could be eliminated.
@timf and I finished one MILS of the double track curves when we were at Josh’s a week or so ago and set the template for the base of…[Read more]

@jupdyke it was great meeting you IRL at the Q4.
I am waiting for confirmation from Nicole (our contact at the Science Center) as to whether we will along a wall or out in the middle. If along a wall, we would not need any space in the middle for LUG members as at least one side would be to a wall and that can be cordoned off for LUG members.…[Read more]

@jupdyke, I’m the one who has both the smaller and the larger model of the Incline. I’m planning to bring the smaller one, retrofitted with Phil’s programmable Boost block and motor that we were playing around with at the meeting. It’s 2 baseplates for space planning purposes.
The larger one takes up almost a full 6 ft. x 30″ table, so I think…[Read more]

@jupdyke are you able to engrave Lego bricks? There are some outfits which do Lego brick engraving (which we use for name badges, etc.) but it would be nice to have a more local source.
Also, can the laser cutters cut “soft” materials like foam? I need to cut a logo for one of my buildings (K&L Gates) and I have some blank peel and stick…[Read more]

@jupdyke the Schubert’s Unfinished list needs some support, including “The Claw” from Toy Story, MIBO the robotic dog and the Caravan elevator … all works in progress. I may be consulting your assistance in the future.
