I finished my two baseplates for the amusement park. Nothing spectacular, but hopefully it will integrate into the other stuff. I am out of town (with essentially no cell phone or internet access) until Friday afternoon so I am not sure if I will get it to the museum Friday or first thing Saturday. Either way, please leave some space for it.

I have a few things that could maybe be useful.
For the amusement park, I have the shooting gallery I did for the build competition a few quarters ago. At this point it is battery powered, but I will convert it to run off a 9V transformer. It is an M-motor and isn’t pushed very hard so it could be powered with something else if needed or I can…[Read more]

Not only that, but it connects to the forthcoming Ninjago City Docks.

This auction has pretty strict requirements for pickup on May 11 from 3-7 in Penn Hills so I can’t participate. Assuming the boxes aren’t empty and not all the baseplates are broken, this could end up being a good deal.

It certainly looks really nice (apart from the stickers). At $380, I might have to sell off a few things first…
I am curious how much of the structure is necessary for stability and reliably and how much is for aesthetics.

Thanks Greg! I wasn’t aware they made that in red. Of course, I was trying to stick mostly with parts I already had on hand.

So I thought for a second that Tom made it into this article (https://brickset.com/article/34434/ideas-showcase). But then I realized 1) Tom’s food stands are much better and 2) Tom doesn’t look like this guy. (https://ideas.lego.com/profile/FrostBricks/projects#search/s:most_recent)

I am not sure who originates ideas for the quarterly build challenges, but figured I would throw some ideas out for consideration:
1. Best arcade or food stand to support a potential amusement park theme at the trolley museum.
2. Best build based on a collectible minifigure such as the picture below. I don’t build many MOCs, but this was…[Read more]

No I don’t. That type of mechanization is well beyond anything I have attempted.

I like the idea of a setup that alternates between day (white light) and night (black light) with the red lights being used as a countdown timer.

There are black cars and light gray rails in a new mining set due out next year. Apparently the straight rail piece is longer than in Joker Manor.

This article shows the new pieces clearly and demos a very simple lift mechanism. It certainly appears that the coaster cars were designed with an intent to be able to mechanize them easily.

If anyone wants to get their hands on one of these, they had a bunch at the West Mifflin Target today. They are selling for $6 a piece, which is about what you can get them for at bricklink.

A nice collection from late 80s/early 90s highlighted by Eldorado and Seaport. Price seems reasonable for what you get.
