Just a follow up. Board game night tomorrow starting at 5:00 pm ish is a go. I’ve got several (non-LUG) people who RSVP’d but would be happy to add a few additional (LUG) people. Come if you want to. 😀
I know this is a bit late notice but I’m available this Saturday evening (starting around 5:00 pm or so) if anyone is interested in a board game night at my place. Just let me know. Thank you!

@jrosie Yes, if you want to bring it up to the Library earlier that week (Wednesday-Friday), the display case will be empty. Or you can bring it to my house (105 Apple Blossom Lane, Cranberry Twp) and I will take it on Saturday.
The Librarian sent me the following message. Wanted to see if anyone was interested.
“Just wanted to check in to see if anyone from Steel City Lug would be available to help out with a Lego program on July 25th (in the evening 5:30-7:30ish) where the kids get to come in and build or work on a Lego project together etc.”
Let me know. I would like to respond by the end of this week. Thank you!

@jrosie We’ll start setup around 9:45-10:00 am (Library officially opens at 10:00 am but we can usually get a librarian to let us in a bit early).

Here is the first version of the layout proposal. @greg your castle can be oriented either sideways (solid lines) or facing forward (dotted lines) whichever you prefer and think would be best. @tcsbgdady your mountain is located in the left side where you requested. I’m working on some forest and ruins that can fill in the back or on the right side.
Does anyone else have anything larger than one 32×32 baseplate? If not, everything else can be filled in among these three larger MOCs and then held together with the river/water.
Not sure about April 27 yet. If that remains free, I’m all up for doing another game day.
Is anyone up for another Board Game Day on either Saturday, April 27 or Sunday, April 28? It looks like I am free both days (starting around 2:00 pm on Saturday and 1:00 pm on Sunday). If we have enough interest, I’m happy to host again. 🙂
I am pulling out of bunch of mythical creatures as well to see if I can fit them in the display.
I assume we still want all the water somewhere.

Sharing your dreams of smoked meats, that is an impressive smoker. Our scout troop had one almost that big and it was awesome to use.

For $2,000, that looks like a pretty good deal if all of those modular sets are complete. And even if not absolutely complete, that is a lot of bricks for the cost.
Who all ended up being there? Leading up to the day, it looked like it was just going to be you, Mitch, and Hacim.
Me, Mitch, Micah, Jacob (my son), Dan, and Jen. Not sure about April 27 yet. If that remains free, I’m all up for doing another game day. We’ll see how things go.

Just looked it up on Board Game Geek – https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/368305/life-of-the-amazonia. It looks really good, in the same vein as Cascadia with maybe a few more strategic wrinkles.

I also have 20,000 – 30,000 1×1 trans light blue studs if we need water.
Yes, I think doing water would pull everything together nicely. We did water years ago with a previous castle display and, like (Ben’s) lava, it just works very well to fill in the gaps.
Thank you, Greg. I am just working out final dimensions of my landscape before posting a first draft of the layout. Does anyone else have any specific space requirements (other than “filler”)?
I’d only be able to get down from Friday morning onward… maybe later Thursday evening. Is this acceptable?
This is fine. You are only required to check in by the end of the day Friday (around 5:00 pm) in order to get your badge, etc. So long as the rest of us attending know approximately how much space you’ve requested, we will leave that empty for you.
