Steel City isn’t making tables available that’s all handled by them down there.
Actually that’s what got us in trouble last time. We assumed that Todd knew how much space we needed based on what we registered. @bengood921 can confirm, but I think we need to do both.
Ben, if you need me to pull together a spreadsheet like we had for Erie just to keep tabs on how much space we need, let me know. I’m guessing we need to get that into Todd soon.
April 22, 2024 at 6:22 pm #58708Krista KModeratorSounds great! Thanks for setting everything up @watchwmarcella 🙂
April 7, 2024 at 11:34 am #58592Krista KModeratorNo worries, I’ll see what I can do. After my last post I thought “Crap, maybe I shouldn’t’ve posted that, what if there’s something really serious going on? I’ll look like even more of a jerk than usual.” I hope everything is going well with the Kay family.
I truly appreciate you checking. It’s just been a tsunami of commitments lately. My course load increased 8-fold, Will’s travelling for work, and I truly had no idea the number of things you have to do with school. Between fundraisers, events, and homework, it’s crazy. But overall, we’re good, just really tired. 🙂
PS – the BrickFair rooms at the HI are all reserved. There’s a waiting list. But most likely, if you haven’t made a reservation at the HI already, you will have to find something else. There’s plenty of options, but none are as convenient.
Also, I really appreciate the head’s up on this. I saw when we registered that it still said 2023 so I was going to wait. We couldn’t get in at the HI, but we’re not too far so it’s not a dealbreaker. We may just be popping out for longer to give Zander a break if he needs it.
April 3, 2024 at 6:49 pm #58546Krista KModeratorRight now I’m good for either and can take the lead. 🙂
April 2, 2024 at 7:20 pm #58531Krista KModeratorfamily logistical question. What day did you head down in the past and did you have Zander with you the whole time? Trying to figure out if this is a bring the family the whole time trip or if they should come for the weekend only.
Last year I think we went down on Thursday. This year we’re planning on Wednesday. Last year was also the last year Zander could get in free, so since we’re paying for him this year we thought we’d maximize the time a little more. He had a blast playing mini golf and some of the games. We stayed at the Holiday Inn which was walking distance so we could take him back if he needed a break. There were also some kid friendly things in the area that Will and Zander explored when he needed a change of scenery during public hours. Otherwise he liked having the run of the place.
April 2, 2024 at 11:18 am #58518April 1, 2024 at 7:58 pm #58505Krista KModerator@greg and I had a nice meeting with John.
I’m going to campus on the 12th to check out their space and am going to start the training soon. RJ actually got his certification already so I’m hoping to team up with him at some point.
April 1, 2024 at 9:06 am #58484Krista KModeratorWhaaaaaaaaat? I thought your life was going to get way easier once Zander was in school all day. Parenting sounds hard.
It’s so weird! They didn’t mention anything about parental commitments in the manual. 😉
On a more serious note, thanks @bengood921 for stepping up. I really appreciate it. Life has really gotten in the way of LEGO lately.
March 28, 2024 at 9:04 pm #58455Krista KModerator@bengood921 or @willmcdine could one of you take the lead on coordinating with Todd? I don’t mind staying in the loop, but my schedule is insane right now and I want to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
March 16, 2024 at 7:25 am #58243Krista KModerator@greg and @lgbrickbuilder certainly feel free to pass along my information to John. I’ll actually be close to campus on the 19th in the morning and am free on the 22nd if you don’t mind me tagging along.
March 14, 2024 at 8:38 pm #58229Krista KModeratorThat’d be a cool resource. If they’re looking for test subjects, I’m running the Ross Elementary club.
March 12, 2024 at 1:43 pm #58170Krista KModerator@argonvesher Actually, it’s this one: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-127000/Made%20With%20Brix/guardians-stronghold/#details
March 11, 2024 at 10:40 am #58143Krista KModerator@greg I believe both Josh and I mentioned that people change their display name to include their first name. It’s much easier for us on the backend when we’re assigning cup credits to search by name than to remember a username. Perhaps it’s time for a reminder.
March 6, 2024 at 12:25 pm #58035March 2, 2024 at 8:37 am #57889Krista KModeratorI’m in! I could finally build the observatory and set it a shelf below your space build. If not, I have a mega castle I could finally build.
February 26, 2024 at 10:01 am #57779Krista KModeratorHi Tyal! Welcome to the club. Look forward to seeing you around the North Hills. 🙂
February 26, 2024 at 10:00 am #57778Krista KModeratorHi Tom! Welcome to the group. Will you be at Home and Garden with TCA Ft. Pitt again this year?
February 18, 2024 at 9:41 am #57646Krista KModerator@tfdesigns I’m sure Andi would love to hear from you. 🙂
February 2, 2024 at 3:53 pm #57354Krista KModeratorFish Fry Fridays have already started!
We’ll have to try them out. Every year we try to find the best fish fry. Any other suggestions on a must try?
January 25, 2024 at 7:14 am #57069Krista KModerator@tcsbgdady I’ll be up your way next week. I’ll text you to arrange.
If anyone needs me to bring theirs to Q1, please let Jim and I know and I’ll pick it up with mine.
January 23, 2024 at 12:50 pm #57021Krista KModeratorLate to the party here, but all good points brought up. My understanding from the LAN is that LEGO is “aggressively protecting” the minifig. I’m not sure where LUG Doug falls in that or some 3-D printed figs I have, but it is a direction they’re moving in.
January 22, 2024 at 1:13 pm #56989Krista KModeratorLet’s talk more at Q1 and come up with a plan.
January 20, 2024 at 7:32 pm #56954Krista KModeratorAll cup credits have been updated. Let me know if anything’s not right.
January 18, 2024 at 6:42 pm #56915Krista KModeratorSo something occurred to me. At the last meeting, @kyle2022 had mentioned about doing multi-session learn from a LUG member. This might be a great opportunity to have an event open to the public where we could do multiple sessions at once. I’d be willing to highlight some Studio or whatever it is that I do.
Perhaps @mitchsbricks could do the photography session again too.
Just thinking if we did 2-3 sessions that might be something of interest.
January 17, 2024 at 1:52 pm #56889Krista KModeratorThanks to you @rcgrier3406 for making this event amazing. The setup went so smooth and the display looked awesome!
