I’m planning to stop by maker faire and could stop by your house afterwards just to help push it along a bit.

I can help finish it the evening of Saturday 10/15 if that works for Josh or anyone else. I’m so eager to see a photo of it at one of your displays!

Supposedly, the guy sold about 100 cars this way and finally got caught. I looked up the bluebook value the value of the car with the extra mileage and the difference was several thousand dollars less.
The odometer only had 5 digits, so the odometer started over at zero once it reached a hundred thousand miles. We got the car just before it…

My wife and I bought a car from a private seller when we lived near DC and we found out several years later from the US Justice Department that the car had 100,000 more miles than were listed on the title. We should have paid more attention when we had it inspected and the mechanic said “its been run hard.”
The Justice Department told you aft…[Read more]

So, two 15″ (48×48 stud) baseplates, and one 32×48 (presumably a 32×32 + 16×32 baseplate?).
Yes.

Centimeters, then?
48 stud baseplate ya goof. And not to be confusing but it is approximately 15” high.

Those are stud counts, or inches, @zbauer?
LOL. Inches?!

Is there a finished half of the ravine that could go on the back side of the racetrack?
Half of the ravine is finished and the other half is 70% ish done. There are 2 48X48 sections and 1 32X48 section that is complete. These ssections measure 15” high. They only go together 1 way but any and all of them could be used for whatever. I’ll try to…[Read more]

Sounds bueno! I can just pick them up from you whenever. You don’t have to make an extra trip.

I’ll take 1 or 2 to tinker with! I still have a couple I mess around with that I programmed in college with arduino boards.

@solscud007 I need you to bring Ben’s trees to Q4 provided that you are coming? Please and thank you and let me know if you can’t.

Oh no! I visit this store once a month. Hopefully it is open over new years weekend (although that wouldn’t make much sense) So sad 🙁 I can only imagine they are sick of paying that rent regardless of the foot traffic they get in there.
And I never even got to ride the ferris wheel.

@laura do you happen to have Ben’s trees? I mistakenly left them at Greenberg and have been tracking them down.

Yes I completely agree with you Josh (and myself). That is why I started to hate the subway idea. There is nothing special about putting a Lego train on a small table under a larger table if the connection between the 2 does not have some awesome Lego intervention. The stair that Walter built was amazing but we didn’t build enough to tie it all…[Read more]

Tim I love the enthusiasm! That sounds awesome. I thought we could start by just simply cutting shorter legs for 1 table and going from there. Once we get people on the ‘Pittsburgh topography’ bandwagon, we can expand our horizons. I think the first step would be to take 2 minutes to cut shorter legs of 1 table and look at how we begin to fill…[Read more]

All,
We are going to cut some shorter legs for 1 or more of our tables and have a ravine connecting the 2 table levels. SO far there has been talk of implementing a river at the bottom, space stuff throughout and a train bridge above. This discussion is meant to share ideas and talk about when we could potentially meet to start the build.
