Yes, please. It looks great @hannah133!
I would really like to have a cohesive space landscape like we do with town/train (rather than just a collection of MOC’s on a table) I am trying to expand on what we had last year at Greenberg’s. I will have the spacetrain and a monorail (I scored some more track at an estate sale ((thanks @greg!)),…[Read more]

@hannah133, I probably have at least one of each of those. Welllll…. not 100% sure. If I find them, I’ll let you know.

Ever the pragmatist, Greg, but you’re of course quite right. Staffing could be tricky if we’re attempting to monitor four separate locations.
Strongly possible that I can staff at least one shift, but I’m not sure which shift just yet…
Also, keep in mind that not only do we need staffers just to keep an eye on things, but we also need at…[Read more]

Well, so far Hannah, Tom and myself are the only ones who have committed to be there for a day shift so thank you @tfdesigns & @hannah133. Also, I have added a tear down shift per Tom’s suggestion.
For those whom have never been, we have a good time. The museum provides lunch for both days and you’re welcome to get up and check out the…[Read more]

Aren’t “Trolley Fair” and “PA Summer Trolley” the same event? Both are in June and both are at the Trolley Museum. If so, I think we already submitted PA Summer Trolley as a support event last December, didn’t we?
@laura, I’d be interested in “going big” with a large Harry Potter display for this event. Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, the…[Read more]

I played around with the “moving keys” piano over the past few days (thanks for the video @hannah133, it helped a lot!). I was able to get a couple of white keys working with springs, and the “action/feel of those keys is actually pretty realistic, but I struggled a little in getting the black keys to work with the springs. Just means more…[Read more]

Yea, I usually peace-d outta Pittsburgh by the first week of May so I haven’t seen this display case. I’ll make some different sizes of music notes and post my progress likely this weekend 🙂
As for the moving piano, I did make it awhile back. I never got around to getting enough pieces for more than 4 keys and 3 black keys though, just a…[Read more]

@hannah133, I’m glad you like this start. Maybe you have not seen the Cranberry children’s library display case, we probably did the setups when you were already finished for the semester. Its a big display case, probably 6 feet wide and 4 feet deep and tall enough to stand in.
It will be great to have all your contributions in our LUG displays…[Read more]

Negative. That’s a very basic design. You could design gears in such that they support. “Configurations” on subsequent revolutions of a master gear. To make a clock, you’d only need to program configurations to represent numbers 0-9. Certainly would take more smart engineering, but look at a watch, or even @hannah133 ’s build of that big…[Read more]

I wanted to get the discussion started on our big events for the year. To reiterate, we need to have three events each year with 10 people participating in each event to maintain our LUG status. Also, I vaguely recall that are expected to have one non-local event each year, although I am not well-versed on the specifics. Finally, we need to…[Read more]

That might not be a bad route to go. You could advertise in the paper or online, or do it by invitation only (if you invited just the LUG members, you would probably get a pretty fair turnout and sell a fair amount of your items). I would suggest having a price guide ready so that any bargaining is productive. I would certainly be interested in…[Read more]

Ok here is a bluebrick I made for PT on Saturday using 5 tables.
There are three major areas:
1) a farm area featuring @laura ‘s Farm stuff, @timf ‘s cornfield/maze, Pumpkin patch? @pete ‘s hayrides and I was thinking maybe fall festival w/rides.
2) trick or treat area with houses & road.
3) spooky area with @timf ‘s cemetary, @skippermike…[Read more]

A haunted hat trick … it all looks great, @tfdesigns! Does the ghost in the train piston up and down? We basically have two trains to run, soon we’ll be ready for a layout design.
As I recall, @timf suggested a brown table cloth for the table base. Does anyone have a brown table cloth? Would a black tablecloth be easier to obtain and just as…[Read more]

@hannah133 I had the same problem when I built the tender for the ghost train so I fit the receiver into the cab of the locomotive; maybe this would work for the HP train too?

@hannah133 my two Hogwarts Express passenger cars have no yellow stripes, I think they are the 4709 model.
@timf if I do the lower sloped roof it will be about 40 studs along the slope which is manageable; when you say a third of the building, is about 32 studs? 48 studs?
as far as lights for the jack-o-lanterns I just opened the lighting box…[Read more]
