Dang, missed that Josh had replied whilst I was distracted from finishing my post.
LIES. I built the mammoth frozen in the ice.
Yes, the “Imma build a tunnel; I’ll start Friday after work” comment was my self-deprecating reference to this prior year shown in the photo Josh linked, when I ran out of time and was finishing the tunnel on-site at…[Read more]

Either of the next two Saturdays, whichever works best. Both days work for me. The Library opens at 10:00 am and since tear down is usually much quicker than set up, I would expect us to be done by 11:00 am.

@laura I’m thinking for staffing purposes, the space and town displays should share the event room. If we do a smaller town display including the amusement park stuff ( @pete are you bringing the carousel and ferris wheel?) and zoo, we could do maybe 7 or 8 tables. The space display is only going to be 3-4 tables. I was thinking we could also…[Read more]

@pete, how high off of the water level is the roadway bed for your Tower Bridge? Just thinking about whether we should depress the river in this area like Tim is doing for his Knight’s Bus Bridge.

I was thinking of brick building the road and putting the statue in the middle. @pete, you should totaling make the Griswold’s car from EV. “I can’t… GET… LEFT!”
And is anyone building a red phone box for the Public entrance to the Ministry of Magic? That would need to be on a fairly deserted side street. And if we really want to go deep,…[Read more]

@legoman270 @rcgrier3406 @pete @greg @tfdesigns @tfdesigns @timf @philmatt24 Let’s plan on meeting at Josh’s house this Saturday at 1:00. I cleared it with Josh and he is good with those plans. I will bring over the parts to my the incline that I have made and some various motorized parts that we could try using.

I wanted to get the discussion started on our big events for the year. To reiterate, we need to have three events each year with 10 people participating in each event to maintain our LUG status. Also, I vaguely recall that are expected to have one non-local event each year, although I am not well-versed on the specifics. Finally, we need to…[Read more]

Tom Frost replied to the topic Patty's Longest Day possible event in the forum LUG discussions 6 years, 10 months ago
The event itself was a moderate success. Attendance was lighter than we had hoped but about what we expected. Those who did come seemed to enjoy themselves. All together we raised a couple thousand dollars for Alzheimer’s research. Will there be a Patty’s Longest Day 2? …remains to be seen.
So, I set up a “Kid’s Activities” booth next to the…[Read more]

I have a tent for this, tables, a kiddie pool to dump brick in to make it easier to build.I also have 3 tubs of LUG play brick. @JoshHall is there any signage for free build? I know there were some signs for derby (i.e. put axles back..etc.) I was thinking we should probably have the banner too, it could be hung on the tent. @Pete would you be…[Read more]

But seriously. I was figuring we’d pick up some playbrick from Josh’s house (sounds like the LUG is probably buying 50 lbs worth, if two more people would just abide by the new #setinstone…[Read more]

Yes. Yes, it will. As I pointed out the other day, here:
😉
We probably have enough (wo)manpower to support both events. But, as much as I love the Trolley Museum, if it came down to it, I would advocate for supporting Maker Faire first, for two reasons: we committed to it much earlier, and we already have Santa Trolley coming up in just over…[Read more]
